Short answer
This comparison is slightly miscast, and it is worth saying so plainly rather than pretending we compete. Todoist is a capture and organisation tool. Goals AI is a prioritisation and reflection tool. Neither replaces the other.

Where Todoist is genuinely better
Capture. Natural-language entry — typing "call the dentist tomorrow at 10" and having it just work — is still the best in the category, and it is the single feature that makes a task manager stick.
Reach and reliability. It runs on genuinely everything and syncs without drama, with a mature integration ecosystem. Its free plan is enough for most individuals indefinitely.
If you do not currently have a trusted place to put every task, fix that first. Todoist is a very good answer and Goals AI is not trying to be one.
What a task list cannot do
A well-run Todoist will cheerfully help you be extremely busy on the wrong things. It has no opinion about relative importance beyond the priority flag you set yourself, and it never asks whether the twenty items you added this week move you toward anything.
The familiar version of this: you clear your list, you feel productive, and at the end of the quarter nothing you actually cared about has moved. Completion is not progress.
What Goals AI does instead
Goals AI runs a short daily questionnaire that adapts to your longer-term goals and your previous answers, and helps you name the single most important thing for today. It tracks that one thing, plus the goals underneath it, and syncs movement, sleep and mindfulness from Health so those update themselves.
It is free forever — unlimited goals and unlimited daily intentions — and Pro carries a free-year guarantee: complete your daily goals for six months and the next year is free. Where it loses: it is not a task manager and does not pretend to be. Keep Todoist for the other ninety things. But be clear about which of the two is doing the work that matters. Todoist makes sure nothing is forgotten. Goals AI makes sure the right thing gets done — and puts it on your calendar so it survives contact with your day. Goals AI vs TickTick covers the option that tries to do both.
Keep your task list. Add the part that decides.
Name the one thing that matters today, and let your calendar and Health data do the rest. Free forever — unlimited goals and unlimited daily intentions, no card. Pro adds unlimited AI conversations and full history, with a 14-day trial.
